Why BuildMatch exists

The Spanish new-build market is fragmented in a way that mostly costs the buyer. Each developer runs its own site, its own brochure and its own sales agents. Information is presented differently everywhere, so comparing two developments means rebuilding the comparison yourself from two documents that were never meant to be read side by side.

For someone buying from another country, that's compounded by distance. You're making a large decision about a region you may have visited on holiday, in a legal and tax system that isn't yours, usually from a list of projects assembled by whoever happened to reach you first.

BuildMatch exists to organise that market around the buyer instead of around whoever is selling: one search, comparable information, and guidance that isn't tied to a single development.

What we believe

• Discovery comes before advice

  You should be able to see the whole market before anyone asks for your phone number. Browsing, comparing and saving never put you in a sales funnel.

• Comparison should be possible

  Projects are described in the same structure, with the same fields, so two developments can actually be held against each other rather than against two different brochures.

• One advisor, chosen by you

  When you want help, you get one person who stays with you — not whoever answers the phone at the development you clicked first.

• Your details are yours until they need to be shared

  No developer sees who you are while you're still looking. That changes only when you reserve a specific unit, because at that point it has to.

• Technology should carry the admin, not the conversation

  Search, comparison, document handling and progress tracking are software problems. Deciding whether a place is right for your family isn't.

Marketplace, software and service in one

BuildMatch sits between three things that usually exist separately. As a marketplace, it brings supply from many developers into one comparable catalogue. As software, it gives you search, comparison, saved searches, document handling and a purchase roadmap that shows where your transaction actually stands. As a service, it gives you one advisor who knows the whole catalogue rather than one project.

Developers supply the projects and pay a commission when a purchase completes. The relationship with you stays with BuildMatch throughout — you are not handed over to a developer's sales team at some point in the middle. How it works sets out that model step by step, including who pays for what.

Where we are now

BuildMatch is new. We're starting on the Costa del Sol and around Sotogrande, because that's where the new-build market is deepest and the international buyer base is largest — not because the rest of Spain doesn't matter. The platform is built so regions and languages are structural from the start, and coverage grows from there.

We'd rather say that plainly than pad this page with milestones we haven't reached. You won't find buyer testimonials here yet either — reviews only appear on BuildMatch once a real purchase has completed and a person has actually written one.
